Valentines at Northfield Care Centre
Northfield Care Centre held a Valentines tea dance on the 14th February for the residents, which included 2 professional dancers coming and dancing along with the residents, a raffle and buffet. Family and friends were invited and raised £119 for the residents funds.

Residents at Eliot House Care Home enjoyed a valentines coffee afternoon on Valentines day, Hosting a raffle, bingo and enjoying cakes with staff and loved ones.
Valentines at Plas Gwyn
The residents at Plas Gwyn Residential home enjoyed a valentines afternoon the 14th February, making heart shaped biscuits and all receiving a rose from the home, one special resident even got a card and some champagne for the occasion!
Dominoes at Eliot House
Residents at Eliot House Care Home had an afternoon of dominoes last week, as well as a small glass of alcohol which was enjoyed by all who attended.
Valentines at Rosecroft
Residents at Rosecroft Residential care home enjoyed a fun afternoon on Valentines day, hosting a valentines party which involved lots of dancing including a visit from Scottish dancers. Residents were all handed a rose and heart shaped treats were enjoyed throughout the afternoon.
Pancake day at Northfield Care Centre
Residents at Northfield Care Centre enjoyed making Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, Staff even managing to flip a pancake in the air!.
Keeping busy at Northfield Care Centre...
Residents at Northfield Care Centre in Thorne, Docaster have been keeping busy over the last few weeks, from getting out and about in Thorne town centre, to holding pamper afternoon sessions at the the home.
Ladies at Northfield Care Centre reqested a girly afternoon which was also arranged, enjoyed by a glass of Champagne.
A McMillian coffee morning was also held at the home, Raising £62.48 , well do to all that helped and attended.

Pamper time for Bertie...
Bertie, Rosecroft Residential Home's dog, took a trip to the groomers this week and enjoyed being pampered, having a much needed cut making him look all fresh and ready for the day ahead!

Rosecroft celebrate Robert Burns
On the 28th January, Rosecroft Residential home celebrated the life of Scottish poet Robert Burns. The home raised £357.16 for the residents funds and invited family and friends to the celebration. Robert Burns evening would not of been complete without Haggis Neeps, potatoes and Cumberland sausage which was offered to all along with a small glass of wine or beer. The home hosted a game of bingo and held a raffle with many prizes on offer.
Well done to all at Rosecroft Residential Home.
Its a strike at Northfields...
Some of the residents at Northfield Care Centre Dementia unit enjoyed an afternoon of playing skittles, each trying to score a strike!!!
2 new additions to the Adbolton Hall family
A cockral and Hen are the latest additon to the Adbolton Hall family. Neither have names as yet, but they are bringing much enjoyment to the residents!!!
World stop the pressue day at Lound Hall
On the 17 November Lound Hall Care Home celebrated World Stop the Pressure day.
Lound Hall’s react 2 red champions and staff joined in with the theme of ‘keep moving’. They did an exercise class together and all played a variety of games during the course of the afternoon.The champions dressed up as superhero’s and staff and residents wore red items of clothing including hats. The champions can be seen wearing fake rubber bottoms as we put this message across.
A red items raffle/tombola was organised and raised £46 for residents funds, Well done all at Lound Hall!
Eliot House residents trip to the garden centre and the Mayor visits Eliot House..
Some of the residents at Eliot House made a trip out over the Christmas period to the local garden centre. Whilst it was cold out, this did not stop them, and they all enjoyed the day out.
The Mayor also came to Eliot House to wish all the residents a Merry Christmas, the picture is taken along side Shanti Rampal, the Home Manager at Eliot House.
Christmas at Adbolton Hall
December was a busy month at Adbolton Hall, from "Elf day" for Alzhimers society to having a great Christmas party including a pantomime and the children from the local nursery coming to sing carols.
A Christmas buffet was also put on along with a Christmas raffle along with the local church coming to visit to hold a lovely service. Merry Christmas to all at Adbolton Hall!
The doors are open to our brand new care home...
Northfield Care Centre was opened at an open day on Saturday 6 May by Thorne Moorends Town Mayor, Susan Durant, who cut the ribbon in a special ceremony to officially open the home to members of the public.
The Mayor was joined by Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mark Houlbrook, as well as invited guests and visitors. The open day provided an opportunity for visitors and potential clients to view the facilities on offer at the home.
Company Chairman, Mr Paul Warren-Gray gave a short speech along with Home Manager, Andrea Fletcher, to welcome everyone to the modern, 80 bed centre.
Those who attended the open day were welcomed with a glass of prosecco on arrival, and enjoyed a light bite to eat whilst they looked round the home.
Northfield Care Centre offers nursing and residential care for older people, as well as respite and day care and a dementia care unit.
Mayor Durant, said: "It was a privilege to be invited to the opening of the new Northfield Care Centre. Everyone was made very welcome by those running the home".
The Mayor said she spent some of her time at the centre talking to nursing staff: "After speaking to staff members their caring nature and heartfelt dedication to the role was obvious to see. "The home is a lovely environment and a much needed facility in the town".

Birthday Celebrations at Longton Nursing Home...
There was a very special birthday celebration at Longton Nursing Home in Preston this week as Resident Reg Stevens turned 100 years old.
Reg was born on the 25th January 1917.
A visit from the Mayor was arranged as well as a big party with lots of food and cakes.
Reg had a lovely day as did his friends, family and other residents and staff members.
Happy Birthday Reg!!
