Castlegate is one of MPS Care Group’s smaller care homes, with room to care for just 20 residents. But what we lack in size we make up for in energy, with plenty to get up to throughout the day. Our 15 rooms are all particularly bright and airy, and can be fully customised with your own furniture and any other home comforts.
We’re all extremely comfortable here. Our staff have been with us for a long time, and the connection to our home truly runs deep. At the end of the day, we’re really just one big happy family.
A small care home, but a big family
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information
The MPS Care Home Group continues to adhere to the guidelines set by Public Health England Agency. The health and wellbeing of our residents and staff are of utmost priority. Therefore we ask that you please contact the homes directly about visiting opportunities as well as new care enquiries as we are safely accepting new residents.
At Castlegate, we take a personal approach to care, with all of our residents free to decorate their new homes with their own furniture. We’ve found this really helps our residents settle in during their first few weeks, so that they feel like they’ve never really left home when they start living with us.
Like all our care homes, Castlegate provides an excellent standard of care within a safe, homely environment, delivered by staff who are qualified and trained to the highest degree. Being an officially listed building, our home has a real unique character too. Inside, we have three lounges where we spend time relaxing, chatting and completing daily activities, and we also have a lovely courtyard for residents to enjoy during the sunnier days and visits from family.
We are located very close to Grantham town centre, a local park and a church which can make for a number of wholesome excursions, while keeping us in the loop with the local community.
To provide the care that is most appropriate for your loved ones, we undertake a thorough analysis of their needs and requirements. At Castlegate, our long-serving team is experienced and able to adapt to a range of situations, providing exceptional and effective care as an utmost priority. Amongst other forms of daily care, our carers here specialise in:

Everyone knows it can be harder to stay sociable as we get older. That’s why, here at Castlegate, we take a proactive approach to socialising. We organise activities regularly throughout the week to keep everyone feeling uplifted and with a big smile on our faces. Our activities vary from week to week, but on a typical day you may find us:
Getting older can be lonely, which is why we place such an emphasis on social activities. For a more detailed look at the activities on offer across the MPS Care Group, please visit our activities page.
When it comes to care, sometimes the importance of our diets can be overlooked. However, at Castlegate, we take our diets very seriously, because we know the benefits that a healthy stomach can have on the wellbeing of our minds and bodies.
That’s why we’ve partnered with apetito, the leading food producer for the health and social care sector. With a wealth of experience in providing healthy, nutritious and quality food throughout the UK, apetito allows our little family to enjoy excellent meals together in our dining hall, keeping us both healthy and happy.
If you’d like to take a more detailed look at our partnership with apetito, or to browse a selection of the menus available at any of MPS Care Group’s homes, please visit our dining experiences page.
