Lound Hall Nursing Home is a Grade Two listed building located in the rural village of Lound, within four miles of Retford, Nottinghamshire. While our summer house makes our extensive grounds ideal for relaxing during the sunnier months, there’s plenty of cosy corners to be found here all year round.
At Lound Hall, we promote a high degree of independence for our residents, guided by our highly trained and experienced staff. Whether it’s more elderly individuals with specific care needs or adults with mental/physical health problems, all are welcome at Lound Hall.
Your independence is our top priority.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information
The MPS Care Home Group continues to adhere to the guidelines set by Public Health England Agency. The health and wellbeing of our residents and staff are of utmost priority. Therefore we ask that you please contact the homes directly about visiting opportunities as well as new care enquiries as we are safely accepting new residents.
Lound Hall was built to accommodate thirty people in tastefully decorated rooms, many of which have en-suite bathroom facilities available. We want our residents’ times here to be characterised by dignity and respect, and we know that these two values can only come through cleanliness, comfort and consistent care on behalf of our staff.
Within these four walls, care is based around each individual’s specific needs, with all of our residents granted the dignity, privacy and independence that we know they need. All of our staff are highly trained and experienced in many different types of care, meaning you can rest assured that your loved ones are safe with us.
An important part of life at Lound Hall is companionship, because we know old age can get lonely at times. With this in mind, we have rooms that can cater to married couples or those simply seeking a little more conversation and friendship in their twilight years. Please get in touch for more info.
To provide the care that is most appropriate for your loved ones, we undertake a thorough analysis of their needs and requirements. At Lound Hall, our long-serving team is experienced and able to adapt to a range of situations, providing exceptional and effective care as an utmost priority. Amongst other forms of daily care, our carers here specialise in:

In our senior years many people struggle to stay active and social. But we find there’s never a better time to give something new a go. At Lound Hall, our residents are constantly involved in group activities together, and we have developed a real sense of family and team spirit as a result.
Lound Hall strives to create an enabling environment through our activities. For a more detailed look at the activities on offer across the MPS Care Group, please visit our activities page.
What we eat has a significant impact on our health and wellbeing, which is why our plates at Lound Hall are always filled with the fresh and nutritious meals provided by apetito, the leading food producer for the health and social care sector.
Thanks to apetito, our meal times are most residents’ favourite time of the day. And no wonder. The hard work and dedication of apetito’s chefs means there is plenty of variety and fresh options to choose from every day, and we always look forward to eating our meals together as a family.
If you’d like to take a more detailed look at our partnership with apetito, or to browse a selection of the menus available at any of MPS Care Group’s homes, please visit our dining experiences page.

“I’ve been working at Lound Hall since 2017. I started as an admin, took on some more duties and then before you know it I became the manager in July 2019. It’s a massively challenging role, but we all come together as a team, as a home and as a company which is really great.
On a day-to-day basis I look after audits, rostering, recruitment, caring, medications – everything. We have a dab hand in everything. We don’t just say that that’s someone’s job and that’s someone else’s job. We all work together and overcome any challenges as a team.
My favourite part of the day is seeing the smile on a resident’s face when you’ve finished whatever it is they need from you, and just giving them that bit of reassurance. It’s the little things like that which let you know you’ve made a difference to their day.”
“Officially, I’ve been working as a housekeeper at Lound Hall coming up to 2 years now. But, in hindsight, I’ve been helping out around the home, just little bits here and there, since early 2017.
I have a bit of a personal connection to Lound Hall as my father-in-law was in here receiving care back when it was a nursing home. There was a job vacancy available so I just applied for it and I’ve been here ever since. It helps to feel close to the place you work in.
I’d never worked in care before I came here. But, once I’d seen my kids through college, that’s when I went looking. And I’m glad I did. It feels like I know every corner of this place now, and I just like the idea of making sure all the residents are as comfortable and happy as my father-in-law was when he was here.”
